    1. Road Trip
    2. Jim Barrett
    3. I took a road trip this morning to Montague and Cooke Counties, TX. I visited Oak Hill Cemetery east of Stoneburg (don't blink or you'll miss it), Montague Cemetery on the north edge of Montague, Nocona Cemetery on the west side of Nocona and Fairview Cemetery in Gainesville. The reason for the trip was to pick up ticks, chiggers, and grass burs (aka stickers aka sand burs). I got the first and last, don't know about the chiggers yet. Yes I forgot to take my spray. Of course that isn't the real reason I went. I went searching for family grave stones and returned with about 45 pictures, three of which may belong to a brother-in-law. All of the others (except maybe two) descend from David Barton Barrett, son of Arthur Barrett, brother of our Reuben. I'll share the pictures when I get them loaded to a web page. 3. Jim, Here is the NAMES of Joan's husband. 1# Being fist born he was named "Boots" after his father' collage room mate. 2# His Grandfather called him his "Little Buddy" when he was in his crib so "Buddy" stuck. 3# He answers to "Bud as it is short for Buddy. Now you know the rest of the story. He said he would answer to all three. Now on Joan condition he said she is doing better this afternoon. He did not know what her blood account was but said it was administered by "Mississippi Blood Services" in Jackson. I called Baptist Hospital in Jackson & they said to contact Carter or United Blood Services here in TX & they would take care of the necessary paper work to get it credited to Joan's account there in Jackson. I will call on Monday to Carter or United & get the particulars on what needs to be done then post what I find out. Jim, I hope all is well with you & Janet. Let Wannetta & I know when you two want to eat catfish again. Our new phone number is working now and is 60l-939-6134. My new e-mail address will be working in a few days and will be joan_blanks@bellsouth.net. Please be in touch." She referred to her husband as Bud. When Dale told us about Joan being sick he referred to her husband as Buddy. When they registered for the reunion he use Boots. If any of you are type O- you might check to see if you can donate for her. I believe any of us who are able to donate can donate to her account, but we need her account information. Glenn would you try to get that information for us. I know the hospital will have it and Boots may. If he doesn't, he can get it. I can't donate again until the end of next month. 3. Hi Brenda, Glad to have you on board. Sorry to hear about your father, we were in Madisonville right after he passed last year but my cousin Garvice Risinger told me about it prior to our Barrett get together there. I believe it was said he was the last of his siblings . My sister Jacquelyn shared the same birthday with your dad. I am right down the road in Bryan if you ever need anything. One of these days I will get your way and find where my great grandmother Seale is buried. Everytime I get a chance there has been too much rain and I don't own a four wheel drive. 1. Hello Everyone
    2. Hello all, Gosh, I really miss all of you so much!! I have talked to Karen and Jim on the phone, but not knowing how the rest of you are doing everyday is so hard!! I hope all is well with everyone...has anyone heard how Joan is doing? Gerry are you recovered from your pneumonia OK? Jim told me that everyone decided to come to my rescue on the PC and I started crying on the phone, (I think I made him feel uncomfortable) but it just touched my heart so much, that you all think so much of me as to do that for me. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart. I got a chance to ride to South Carolina in the 18 Wheeler as my husband had a load that was going thru Greenville last week. Unfortunately, I couldn't remember how to get to the cemetery and he was afraid we would get down a road he couldn't turn around on so I didn't get to see the new emblem on Reuben's stone after all. The week before we went to SC, my step mother passed away, they live in Carlisle, Texas and she was buried there. There are several Barrett's buried in the cemetery there and I took pictures of the headstones for the website which I will get on the website as soon as possible. My father also gave me an old picture album (Madisonville Barrett's) and I will put those on the website as well. I would like to ask Jim Barrett to take care of the list until I can get back up and running. I am hoping that I have most of my stuff backed up, if not the people who have recently sent me stuff to go on the website will have to resend. I am at my brothers house using his computer so I better get off of here and go visit for a bit. Please know that I think of each and every one of your daily and that I truly miss you all. Brenda , welcome to the list, it is so good to hear from you again!!!I am so sorry to hear about your Dad. I hope we will be able to catch up soon. Love and great big HUGS to all, Janet

    3. Brenda, Welcome to the group. I remember my mother, Mollie Conner Barrett and Talmage talking about Bracewell many times. My Grandmother, Sarah Louisa Adams Barrett, was married to Luther Monroe Barrett. Luther was the son of John Whitten Barrett. So HI Cousin. I have pictures of John and Hulda. They are the same ones supplied to the Madison County Historical Book. I need to start tracing the Adams line. My name "Jack" comes from my Great Grandfather, Joseph Jackson Adams. My Great Grandmother was an Allen and was, as I was told, was related to the Allens who founded Houston. That is another story.
