    3. Karen, Beth sent me a picture of David Albert and Elijah Seale out of your collection. I forwarded a copy to my mother and she said it is Uncle Liz. We had possible four or five pictures of the Seale's in our collection. Many thanks. 1. [Barrett-Reuben-SC] Reuben Barrett Address Books
    2. Hello All, Gosh, I love the fact that we have so many new people joining our family list! I get a notice in my e-mail every time someone subscribes. I went into the directory and we have 86 people subscribed now. We always hear from the regulars but we know the "lurkers" are out there. That's OK too, but we would love to hear from everyone and help anyone with anything they are researching. I don't know if everyone knows about the Reuben Barrett Address Book. It is a book that I put together that now has about 170 names and addresses and ancestor lines of Reuben Barrett descendant researchers and allied line researchers. Including, name, address, e-mail, ancestor line and website or notes. It also contain several blank spaces in each section (like a regular address book) to add to it. I have found that it is an invaluable tool in my research. When I find I need some information on a certain line I just get out my address book and I have several people I can contact. When someone new contacts me or the list, I just fill in their name and information in the book. It has a beautiful cover that I designed myself, an index, a couple of pages of Helpful website addresses for Barrett family research from the different states our Barrett's are from including sites that offer free Computer software for family tree programs, forms and charts etc. It also has several pages of books and contact information on books that include our Barrett family. I plan on printing out as many of these books as I can to bring to the reunion to make available and offer to everyone for a donation to the marker and food fund for the reunion. I usually sell these books for 20.00 when someone orders them, but the donation will be up to the person wanting the book. If those of you who cannot attend the reunion would like one of the Reuben Barrett Address Books they are now available, all money sent for this book will go to the Marker fund. I know a "donation" doesn't seem like much but every little bit helps at this point. Jim tells me we still need $553.00 to pay for the marker for Reuben and Hannah. Everyone has been so wonderful in donating, if you have already donated and would like an address book please let me know and I will send you one. Please send any "donation" for the address book to Jim Barrett and then let me know and I will mail you an address book out. BTW it has 51 pages. Thanks to everyone, Janet

    1. Re: [Barrett-Reuben-SC] Sandel Barrett
    2. Paul Lila
    3. Hey Karen, Hold them horses!! I'm trying to put the stuff together. For you who can't wait, appears Albert Sandel Barrett was the son of my great uncle Arthur Barrett and wife May Roberts. His father Arthur was Perry Lysander's youngest brother, and my grandmother Ritha Ann Barrett Tingle's youngest brother, all being children of William Grant and Harriet Young Barrett. Oneil Buckman worked on this family (Arthur & May's) for months. Their last living child, Elenor Grace Barrett Troncalli died 4 July 2002 Oneil wrote by email 15 July 2002. We didn't have Sandel's vital data other than census 1910 & 1920. Thank you, Ann Cummings for that as of yesterday. I think the orphanage you spoke of was probably the Masonic Children's home in Meridian which is now closed. Not long ago we were in touch with them for info on great uncle Burton David's children who were there in the 1940s I think. Can't remember all the dates now. Arthur joined the Cadeville Lodge No. 229, Cadeville, Ouachita Parish, LA (1904-1913). He was Secretary in 1907. This courtesy of Oneil Buckman (email June 28, 2000). Arthur Barrett, b. 14 Nov 1873, Neshoba Co, MS; died 24 June 1923, in Egremont, Sharkey Co, MS, which is south of Rolling Fork. Was buried there. His wife May ROBERTS, b. abt 1884 in LA, survived Arthur; don't have her death date. They married about 1900 in LA. I have 9 children for them: Ethel Barrett, son, (1901-1983) d. West Monroe, LA.; + Zeima W. Cheney Marvin Barrett, son, (1902-1943), d. Vicksburg, MS; + Lera Adeline Gaston R.T. Barrett, son, (1904-1975, d Warner Robins, GA; + Beatrice Barrett (sic) Arbert Barrett, dau., (1906-1994), d Ville Platte, Evangeline Parish, LA; + Kent Thompson. Albert Sandel Barrett, son (1907-1959), d Ft Benning, GA; + Janie Smith William Grant Barrett, son, (1910-1965), d Houston, Harris, TX, unmarried? Rutha May Barrett, dau., (1912-1931), d Meridian, Lauderdale Co, MS Arthur Lee Barrett, son, (1914-1983), d McComb, Pike Co, MS; + Ethel Spencer Elenor Grace Barrett, dau, (1918-2002), d place not given; m-1) Hiram Beam; m-2) Joseph Troncalli. - - -- -- - - - - - - -END FAMILY Cousin Oneal put in a lot of time, effort and $ to gather info on this family. Many thanks Oneal. One question for Ann C. Did you (or your family member) get Sandel's dates from his tombstone at Parkhill? Everyone, let's remember Janet in our prayers. She has brought this big Barrett family together through her work and devotion to duty. There may be bits more about Arthur later. If any of you can add anything, please let me have a copy. Thanks. 2. Hi Jack & Dede, I just read your post to Janet. I spent last year going to M.D. Anderson with my father, and I probably meet you and did not know you were cousins. You guys do a great job making people feel they are at the right place. Thank you. I hope to meet you both one day. Janet, you have done so much to bring this family together. I most likely meet Jack and Dede and did not know they were family. You should be proud of your work. It has and will help so many people to not only find their roots, but make connections with their family. Our praters are with you. Jim Alexander

    3. Janet, Hope the test turn out to be negative. If they are positive, Dede and I hope you will be in contact with M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. We are volunteers in the Eastern Star Handicraft workroom each Tuesday. This program supplies handicraft kits to the patients and caregivers without a charge. This is to help them have something to do while undergoing cancer tests, surgery and recovery. The program was started when the hospital was founded in an agreement with 18 Eastern Star Chapters in the Houston area. We now have groups working in the Rosenburg, Clear Lake and several other areas. We will keep you in our prayers.
