    3. Karen . Oh my, Aunt Dinky in a bathing suit. That I can not picture. She was always a round little old lady who adored all of us because she had no children of her own. Give us a kiss and box our ears in the same breathe. Her and mom's other sister Bessie lived right across the street from one another and we always hid out at Aunt Dink's for all her baked goods. We miss her. 2. Karen, Before they took all those records off the internet I managed to get a majority of them copied of the Barrett's anyway. I didn't save any of the other names. I hope to someday get them all in some kind of order. The CD's sound great, if my cd burner worked (my 2 yr old decided to put 3 cd's in it at the same time and knocked it off track) I guess I should put them on cd's. Janet

    1. [Barrett-Reuben-SC] Texas Birth and death and Divorce records
    2. This is for you Texas researchers. I went to a genealogy seminar last weekend sponsored by the Williamson County Genealogy Society. In my grab bag was an order form for those Texas records that used to be on the Internet but have been taken down in order to comply with federal directives; you order them from Anna Price. This is the best price I've seen so far, and I thought it was worth passing on. One CD is $15, 3 are $35, 4 are $45, 6 are $65, 7 are $75. Includes shipping and handling. For every 10 orders mentioning a genealogical society, Anna will donate a set of CDs to the local genealogy library. Texas births 1926-1998; deaths 1964-1998; marriages 1966-1997; divorces 1968-1997. There is an update through 2000 for death, marriage, and divorce (1 CD) She also has some California, Kentucky, and Illinois records. Contact Anna Price at [email protected] Her address is 11215 Research Blvd. #1044, Austin, Tx. 78759. (Anna is a member of the Williamson Co. Gen. Soc., a very nice lady.) Hope this helps bridge the gap. I've grieved over the loss of those records on the Internet many times. Karen Hett

I may have a photograph of the tombstone somewhere in my files. If not -- and if you are interested -- I will ask someone to get a digital photo & email us the picture. Sandel Barrett never used his given name. He always went by Barrett. He introduced himself as Barrett, Mr. Barrett or Sgt. Barrett. Even Aunt Janie called him Barrett. I never knew his name until I found his tombstone. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who pieced this Barrett family together. You've made my day! I can't wait to share this with my father.
