    3. Karen, I can't say where you went wrong, but perhaps the Clayton Library would accept your document collection. There is still room there! Do you need help with the transport? I could bring my van. :-) From Kauai, Cousin Don [email protected] wrote: In a message dated 3/16/03 10:59:37 AM, [email protected] writes: << Mrs. Reeves also exchanged information with Lois Barrett O'Kelly, a descendant of the Arthur Barrett who may have been Reuben's brother.>> Jim--it was through Emma Barrett Reeves' Barrett book that I first found Lois Barrett O'Kelly, and that was the real beginning of my connection to our South Carolina Barretts. 2. Jack, Are the pictures of Huldah and John Whitten Barrett on the webpage the originals you have? I would like to put who has the originals on the website. Mitch Vetuski sent me the copies of them. I would love to have copies of the others that you have. I will correct Mollie's name the next time I go into the directory which will prob be tomarrow.. I have been putting each persons pictures by thier names on their webpages. I think it would look neat to have their picture in thier boxes. Gerry I promise I will get your new data put on soon. Janice Huston has been kind enough to send me the transcription out of her great grandfathers bible. And Pat Crawford has been nice enough to send me her gedcom. I will get it all put on soon. Also I am getting the address books done. Just be patient with me. Janet

    3. Janet, This is my line. Luther Monroe Barrett was my grandfather. My mother's name is spelled Mollie not Molly. Please correct this for me. I have pictures of Luther Monroe Barrett, Sarah Louisa Adams Barrett, John Whitten Barrett and Huldy Reding Barrett. They were my grandmother's and were passed to me when she died. She was living with my aunt Minnie in Madisonville when aunt Minnie died. She then came to live with my mother, Mollie. Dede and I live next door. I can remember grandmother Sarah, whose eyesight was very limited. She could only see down. She would hold our son, Philip, in her lap and swing him in the swing on Mollie's front porch. Those memories are priceless. Again, thanks for the effort you and others are putting in making the Barrett line so vivid. 1. [Barrett-Reuben-SC] Barrett Reunion Announcement
    2. Jim Barrett
    3. Carolyn Ericson, daughter of Emma Barrett Reeves, has included an announcement of our reunion in her current column "Kissin' Kussins". The column is online and is published is several East Texas newspapers. She announces her column each week on the Deep South mailing list, A discussion list for genealogy in AL, GA, FL and MS [mailto:[email protected]] <mailto:%5Bmailto:[email protected]%5D> , mail list. I visited Mrs. Reeves in her home in Nacogdoches. We were unable to find a connection between our families. Mrs. Reeves also exchanged information with Lois Barrett O'Kelly, a descendant of the Arthur Barrett who may have been Reuben's brother. 1. [Barrett-Reuben-SC] Huldah Reding Barrett Obituary
    2. Thanks to Karen Hett for sending me the obituary of Huldah Reding Barrett for the website. You will find it on John Whitten Barrett's webpage. It seems there was a pneaumonia epidemic in Madicon County at that time. Her son in law J.B. Manning and her son Lutur Monroe Barrett both died within days of her and their obituaries are all together. It mentions how both the mens wives were also sick and not expected to live. Luthur Monroe's baby also died during that week, but isn't mentioned in the obit. What a sad time for the Barrett family losing so many family members at the same time. Lloyd Barrett sent the obituary to Karen in 1986, she believes it was from Molly Wright's scrapbook in case you want to copy it and add it to yur files. Please list this as your source. Hugs, Janet

    3. Regarding HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act): I'm not an expert on the subject, but the company I work for develops software for the managed care industry, so I have some knowledge of it. There's a big privacy component to it, and while access to private medical records and associated info is to become much stricter, I'm not sure how much that would affect genealogy research. I could find out more about this if anyone's interested.
