Sydney, That is a good idea, but isn't it to late to do that? Maybe next year we can do that before the reunion and then use the funds for that reunion. Hugs, Janet

Janet, This will not install if you have McAfee. It wants you to uninstall McAfee first. McAfee has a visual scan that inform you exactly where the attack has come from if any one is interested. Thanks for the heads up I am running another scan now. Dear Janet, I have made my plane and motel reservations for Greenville. We will be there. Count us as two adults (most of the time we act that way). We are looking forward to meeting everyone! Sheryn Welburn

Janet, Received message. Gaye
Janet - do we have any chain of ownership; I am sure we don't have a tax map id or address - anything to go on? Rosemary
I received a letter yesterday acknowledging receipt of the applicaton for a DAR Headstone Marker for Reuben Barrett. Since the list doesn't accept attachments, I'll paraphrase here: "Your application will now be forwarded to a Staff Genealogist for review. ...Due to the heavy, multifaceted workload of the genealogy staff assigned to this task; this verification process may take up to six months or longer to complete...." It is signed: Beverly Jensen, Historian General, NSDAR. Marilyn Dowdy

Hello All, I sent a message two days ago and I haven't seen it pop up yet. This is a test to see if this one does. I have written to Rootsweb to tell them we have been having problems. Hugs, Janet
Janet: Are you folks having shirts made? My Crockett group does this - others of us who are not going would surely buy them - raise the price a dollar and two and any proceeds could go toward the NEXT reunion. Sydney
Got It. Love,Gaye
I think we should use their Associate Pastor. Let's disrupt their normal service as little as possible. I agree that we should have the Sanctuary available. I don't know if Jeff will prefer to sing inside or out. If it is raining, we'll want to be inside. I need to let her know if we need to use their Associate Pastor to do the Service when we are there. I just wanted to make sure that there is no one who is going to attend that wants to do the service, since Dina McBride and her family can't attend now. Here is a section out of her letter: We will be most happy for you to address the congregation and your family, and also invite you to incorporate any special singers, presentations, introductions, etc., that you may have. It is our desire to allow you complete freedom with the service to better aid your family in their celebration. I look forward to hearing from you, Susan Darnell Also do we want to have the Memorial service inside the sanctuary after the Sunday service and lunch and then go to the cemetery since there may be an estimated 30 families attending. Or have it at the cemetery? Here is what I think but if anyone has any other ideas I am always open to them... Attend the Sunday Service then go to the Fellowship hall for lunch, then back to the Sanctuary for the Memorial Service and then to the cemetery to unveil the Marker and say a few words. The reason is the ground may be soft or muddy, we have some people attending who are in Wheelchairs and others that it will be hard to stand for a long period of time. We have a few who are in their 80's. I just want it to be as easy as possible on them too. We have a gentleman who will be singing a song during the Memorial Service. It would be nice to have a representative from each family line to say a few words at the Memorial Service and we can have more than one song if we have anyone out there who would like to do it. If any of you can do this please let me know so I can coordinate the Memorial Service. I also need to hear from everyone who is attending and how many they plan to bring so I can get a rough estimate. Hello All, Today I found 4 "worms" on my computer. Three of them where from downloads. Since I have not downloaded anything except what Barrett descendants send me, everyone needs to check their computers. I am sure most people have a virus scanner on thier pc. If you don't you can go to PC-Cillin and download a free trial for 30 days. After 30 days it just doesn't work anymore, you don't have to put any information in except your e-mail address. I have been using it for a long time and it is a good program, although I am sure there are some better. http://www.trendmicro.com/ftp/products/pccillin/pcc2003sw101.exe Trend Micro also has a free virus scan on their site. Hugs, Janet
Hi cousins, Normally I'm a lurker on this list but I know there are a few other Joseph descendants out there. My great-grandfather was Dallas C. Barrett (b. September 23, 1860, Camden, Madison Co., MS; d. November 13, 1947, Camden, Madison Co., MS.), son of Reuben G., son of Joseph. He had a number of siblings about which I have little (or in some cases no) information beyond their name and YOB. Does anyone out there have any info on the following individuals and/or their descendants (or know of anyone who might)? WILLIAM BEN BARRETT, b. 1858, Madison Co., MS SAMUEL BARRETT, b. 1862, Madison Co., MS DAVID BARRETT, b. 1863, Madison Co., MS WALTER BARRETT, b. 1866, Madison Co., MS JOHN TULLY BARRETT, b. November 18, 1855, Canton, Madison Co., MS Thanks, Dale Barrett
Rosemary, Did we ever act on this? Do you think we can find out who owns the Barrett land now? hugs, Janet Janet - I replied to Dina I think it was regarding my contacting the current owner of the homesite - if someone can give me some specifics. I can take a digital camera and get some shots and send to you. Let me know. Rosemary
