Bill, Attachments for what? For the list? I got some of those also and just deleted them. I am not sure what they are but didn't want to take any chances. Hugs, Janet
Hello All, I have been working on this for a couple of weeks but didn't want to say anything until it was all set. After the Sunday Service at Tyger Church we had planned on having a luncheon for everyone by taking up donations and buying stuff at the local grocery store to serve. I have spoken to Susan Jakes the pastors wife, and the Missions Ladies Program at the church will make us a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall after the service. The donations that we take up for the lunch at the Saturday night Family Meeting will all go to the Ladies Missions. I thought it would be better to give the money to the church instead of the local grocery store. I have a list of people attending the reunion and there are 44 people on the list so far. However, I need to know how many people you on the list are planning on bringing so that I can give the ladies a rough estimate so they will know how much food to prepare. I will try to e-mail everyone but if you get this message and are attending the reunion if you can send me an e-mail to my box and let me know it will be a big help. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We will leave a stack of Barrett Reunion Itineraries at the front desk of the hotel for everyone, so everyone will know where to be and when we will be meeting. I will post a draft of it on the list before the reunion for everyone. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I will be flying in, so will not be able to bring my computer like I had planned to do. If anyone is driving and can bring their computer and scanner and printer so that we can all share photos, it would be great. If you can do this please let us know and that way several of us can buy ink and photo paper for your type of printer. And don't forget to bring your cameras, old photos and research you would like to share. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We will have a table with books than contain information about the Barrett family at Family Meeting on Saturday night, If you have a book that you think no one else has that has information, please bring it so others can see it. Even if it is a photo copy of the book. I will be bringing the ones I have. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We will also have a table for pictures, so be sure to bring your old pictures for everyone to see and share. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks for all you help to make this First Reuben Barrett Reunion a success, Hugs, Janet
Gaye - Look here for Barrett Family cemetery site - http://www.msgen.net/co/neshoba/neshoba_cem.html Apparently it's near Edinburg, but the coordinates are indicated. That's where I think Joseph is buried. If we could get someone (like Bill?) to go out there and look/take pictures, that would be great. Dale

Bethel Methodist Church cemetery census is on the web. I found it in a yahoo search using "Bethel Methodist Church Attala County." Attala County has a genealogy site with several cemeteries listed. Sarah Barrett Everage

I don't know if they are our Barretts. I saw the markers when I was researching my Mother's family. If anyone is interested in going to that site, it is the old campground Methodist church, one of the oldest in the county. If you go, you'll enjoy your visit. Hello All, Karen is having problems with transfering her files to her new pc. She doesn't have access to any of her files or her address book right now. So she asked me to pass along this message to the list: please post a message on the list that if anyone needs to contact me, to use this address, [email protected] until further notice. She is frustrated..but hopefully she will get it all done tomarrow, if she doesn't throw it out the window first...haha. Until then if anyone needs to talk to her please write her at the above address. Thanks and hugs, Janet
Jack, I put you down for one soft cover. We have 12 books orders now. I will give everyone till the end of this week, and then Monday after that I will send the order in. After that in order to order any books we will have to make a list and when we get 10, send it off. My nephew is going to change the book website to put a list on it. Jack, do you have my address on Rychlik Rd? I don't live on Carlisle Street anymore which was where I lived when we talked on the phone. Jack, don't you worry about the pictures right now. Your health is more important to me than the pictures. I have been doing a lot of research on the families in Madison County, and yes they are all tangled together. In fact, my great great grandmother became my great aunt at one point. I even think I am double related to myself ...haha if that is possible. I am my own cousin...OK I am being silly now. But, Seriously, I want you to get well. I am sorry you are having problems and I will remember you in my prayers, as I know you have me. I almost cried when I read what you wrote about Dede. That was so sweet to love someone so much and for so many years. Most men wouldn't say so, you are a very special man, and Dede is also blessed to have a husband like you (but I am sure she knows that). And I am blessed to have a cousin and a brother in Christ like you! Love and Hugs, Janet
Janet, I will want one (1) softcopy. I will mail you the $40.00 as soon as possible. Thank you for your work on the book. It is something that everyone wants but does not have the time required to publish a book. You are an angel for your work. The pictures of Luther Monroe Barrett and Sarah Louisa Adams Barrett are in their original frames. I will try to find the time to search my bother's negatives for the copies he produced. This will take time. My copies are in frames. Bud made the copies and framed them and gave them to me as a gift. Bless his soul, I sure miss him. "Now, Little Brother, listen to your Older Brother." Yes brother. I will also be looking for the other negatives, John Whitten Barrett, Hulda Reding Barrett. Also, I will try to find the negatives to the Barrett-Winborn-Whitley reunions at Uncle Lawrence and Aunt Alice Winborn's place in Madisionville. We are all related through Sarah Louisa Adams Barrett. Of course, just about all families in Madison County are related somewhere along the lines. The Barretts, Adams, Winborns, Whitleys, Bobos, Conners, McCanns, etc. I remember Mom and Grandmother talking about various branches of the family. Please give me time. I am fighting Congestive Heart Failure from the Open Heart Surgery I had in 1986. The muscle they removed a portion is now stiff and the Left Ventricle does not empty completely. However, I thank the LORD for each day he gives me. Also, my great gift of his, my sweet Dede. Fifty six and 1/2 years ago. Thanks again for your efforts. Jim, I think this is a great idea. Maybe for Saturday morning or afternoon. I had planned for us to try to go and see Reuben Barrett's land however, everyone I have spoken to seems to think the land is so broken up now that it would be hard to find exactly where he lived. I will have some maps made for everyone that shows the modern roads with the old landowners property. The map is also in the Reuben Barrett book. I will be making a new agenda for everyone for the reunion, and I will also leave a stack of them at the front desk at the hotel. Of course everyone is welcome to go and do whatever they want to do on Saturday and on Sunday night. There is a paper on the website that Karen Hett wrote about Reuben Barrett's military service if anyone wants to read up on it. It is very interesting. Hugs, Janet
Bill, Thank you that would be great!! I wish I was walking the cemetery with you..it is one of my favorite things to do. I usually transcribe cemeteries in my area and submit them to the internet. I figure if I do it for someone here maybe someone will do it for me where my family is buried. What goes around comes around. I look forward to getting them to share with everyone. Hugs, Janet
