Markers 38 - 67 have been added to kit 191364. Thanks. Jim Barrett - Timpson, TX
I have not verified this date but this is a good source. If you want to transfer I wouldn't drag my feet. To: "ISOGG Mailing List" <isogg@yahoogroups.com> Date: Friday, February 3, 2012, 8:28 PM The FTDNA offer of only $50 to transfer in 23andMe results really is limited! It ends on Feb 10th. CeCe www.yourgeneticgenealogist.com www.studiointv.com
I have been told that the upload problem has been resolved. Your raw data from 23andMe will be a zippex file. It must be unzipped before it will upload. Once it is uploaded you should receive a confirmation message. The files will be batched once a week to be processed. Jim Barrett - Timpson, TX
FTDNA is now accepting raw data from 23andMe V3 and V2. If you already have a FTDNA kit go to your myFTDNA website and click on the orange "Order an Upgrade" button. Click on the orange "Order Standard Test" button. In the "Product" drop down box select "Transfer Relative Finder (Introductory)". READ the product description. The price for V3 is $50 and will use your V3 raw data. The price for V2 is $50 plus $109 for a upgrade coupon plus $4 P&H. For V2 you are getting the FTDNA Family Finder test for $163 rather than the normal $289. Two comments: 1) this is an introductory offer. I don't know how long these prices will last. 2) there seems to be a problem with their upload right now You must pay for this before you try to upload so if it fails I would wait a day and try again. When I hear that is no longer a problem with the upload I'll announce it here. Anyone who tested at 23andMe but does not have a FTDNA account can still transfer into FTDNA. Go to https://www.familytreedna.com/login.aspx click on the orange "Order Your Test Now" button, scroll WAY down to the "Third Party" heading and select "Transfer Relative Finder (Introductory)". Again, the prices shown are introductory. They will change and I'll bet that means they will go up. Jim Barrett - Timpson, TX
Markers 38 - 67 have been added to kit 8132. HVR1 & HVR2 results have been added for kit N31188. Remember these results are shown on the mtDNA page which has a link following the second table of the home page. Thanks. Jim Barrett - Timpson, TX
Sande, You have to be signed in to your myFTDNA. Since I don't know what you are wanting to correct I can't be sure where you need to go. I suggest you start with the drop down menu that is displayed when you hover over "My Account". If that doesn't get you where you want let me have an idea of what you are wanting to change/do. Don't you hate it when I used a subject line like that! FTDNA has released their myFTDNA 2.0. I like most of it very much. They have provided a "Interactive Tour" that will be very helpful as well as many "Help" links where you can get additional information about each page. They have also added a "Feedback" link near the top of each page. Please, if you have questions use this link. Be sure to let them know exactly where you are. If you ask someone for directions to Texas and you don't tell them where you are you won't get much help. They have added a page where you set the access you want your admin to have to your account. From the "My Account" drop down menu select "Project Administrator Settings". You can set this for each project admin in each project you belong to. If you grant the project admin "Full Access" if will be removed any time you reset your password. Please click on the "Page Help" button to see what your admin can do at each level. You have three options: Read only, limited (which I believe is the default value) and full. With limited access the admin can not change you e-mail address for you. To grant your admin full access you must send her/him/them/ your kit number and password. They then enter this information into a page on their Group Administrator Page. Your kit number, but not your password will be retained on that page and their name will be added to the list of admins you have granted full access to. NOTE: If you send me your kit number and password (1) I will not keep them and (2) be sure to send them to parino@flash.net rather than replying to this message which would send the information to ALL list members. Thanks. I hope you find the new pages helpful. Jim Barrett - Timpson, TX
If you got too busy to place your order by the Dec. 31 deadline or if you received some cash for Christmas or if you didn't blow your budget buying Christmas presents or if you still need to get a present for someone you'll be happy to know that FTDNA has extended their sale until Jan. 7, 2012. Any one can order from http://www.familytreedna.com/ If you want to be sure your kit is added to the correct project you can search for that project using the name search box. Hello Jim,FYI: I just gave the test kit (220433) to my husband, Edward Barrett, as a Christmas gift. To convince Ed to join the Barrett group, I want to be able to assure him of a high level of privacy. I've already changed our contact email information on the FTDNA site so that Ed's personal email address is no longer to be used.Since he also uses this for business, I don't want him to be bothered by additional emailing from FTDNA. In any case, it happens that I'm the family member who is compiling genealogical information on all the family lines, so it's appropriate that I will be the contact person for the Barrett site as well. Please be aware that the former email address for Ed (ebarrett@mit.edu) has been replaced by virginiashields@hotmail.com on the FTDNA site; please do not use Ed's previous email address any longer. Additionally, please take it off your own contact list. You already have my email address, virginiashields@hotmail.com, and this will become the only contact email address so that I will receive communications. To repeat, our contact email address should now read: virginiashields@hotmail.com Thanks very much.Virginia Shields > Date: Fri, 23 Dec 2011 05:10:46 -0800 > From: parino@flash.net > To: BARRETT-DNA-L@rootsweb.com; POWELL-DNA-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: [BARRETT-DNA] Your myFTDNA Website Update > > FTDNA is in the process of updating your myFTDNA website.
