    3. PLEASE DO NOT USE REPLY ALL TO THIS MESSAGE. This message is being sent to several RootsWeb mailing lists.  A 'reply all' tries to send your reply to all of them.  All but the list you are subscribed to rejects your message to any group you don't subscribe to and I have to clear the held message. I tried using Facebook once.  I'll never try again.  If someone starts one please post a message to the proper group so other join.  If something comes up and there is a question you want to ask me appoint one person in the group to send me a message to my email address.  I'll reply to that person and they can post it to the Facebook group. If you try to post a message to your RootsWeb list please use the address it came from.  If you don't it will be held until I release it.  We have been getting A LOT OF SPAM on the list so I get many messages about held messages. Thanks. Jim Barrett - Timpson, TX

    3. You received the message because you are a member of the Barrett-DNA email list at RootsWeb.  You were added to the group when you joined the Barrett Surname Project at FTDNA. The DNA test from Ancestry is an autosomal DNA test similar to FTDNA's Family Finder.  Autosomal DNA looks at ancestors from all of your lines.  Y-DNA looks at you paternal line (father's, father's, --- father) only so you'll get many more matches with Ancestry's autosomal test than you have with FTDNA's Y-DNA test.  The same is true for Family Finder.  You would get many more matches from Family Finder than you have from Y-DNA. Ancestry will not give you a chromosome browser (lets you see where and on which chromosome you match the person).  23andMe, FTDNA and MyHeritage all provide chromosome browsers.
