Tina, I have just subscribed to the new Barraclough list. I am inteested in your family connections for several reasons. I am researching references in my grandfather's book soon to be published on Hemingway's in Yorkshire. The Barrowclough (sic) family and the Crowther family are major "players" during the period of the late 1500's and 1600's. I currently am working out the property ownership of Shibden Hall and High Sunderland (both families are active in the property) One of the early references I have is John Barrowclough married Lucy Hemingway 27 May 1593. Lucy's parents were John Hemingway and Johanna Sunderland. I have several Crowther connections tied to Shibden Hall, The Lister Family and the Waterhouse Family. I would be interested in any info you have re your family history. The rights of property seem to be heavily tied to the women and marriage contracts.
