Dear Friends and Family, I'm hoping that given time I will be able to call you all Family. Fist of all I would like to send a huge Thank You to our Linda Barraclough for jumping in and offering to start our own Barraclough Newsgroup/Mailing List. She has always been an enormous help to me since I first contacted her a number of years ago. And I have also had the great pleasure of meeting her and her partner Peter Lakeman. If any of you want to write your own Barraclough family history, then I suggest you talk to Linda, she has published her own, and I suggest if any of you see her book "Kapana A Place On The River" in the book stores or in your Genealogy or Major Libraries than you either purchase a copy or borrow the book and get idea's on how you can present your own Barraclough material in book form. I also know she has written an excellent book on how to organise a Reunion, of which I borrowed a copy from my local library and number of years ago. She is that talented that she even has her own Publishing company, of which is called Kapana Press. Ok Linda! (Affectionately now known as our Head Honcho) I know we are not supposed to advertise, but your the boss, and because I'm affectionately now know as the groups "Boss Cocky" then I reckon I can get away with it just this once once :-)) I am really pleased that we are all now a group and that you all can get to know each other, just as I have the pleasure of being friends with you all. And may we find the connections to become all family. At last count this afternoon there was 13 of us subscribed, so I think we should make a start and the others will probable join us in dribs and drabs. I ask that you all introduce yourselves and as Linda has asked, please tell us where you are from. The first lot of transcripts should start and appear from tomorrow onward, and I ask if any of you think that any entry belongs to your tree's, could please let me know. I constantly look at all of your trees and see if there are any match up's I may have missed, but I'm only human folks and do miss things from time to time. I also invite anyone who has any Barraclough transcripts, even if it is only one entry, please post them to the group, or send it to me and I will post it. So come on everyone, start posting and introducing your Barraclough's to the rest of our group -- Best Wishes Kim Pasquill Victoria-AUST Email: [email protected] Barraclough Surname Study: http://users.net2000.com.au/~football/index.html ICQ Number: 30110913 Researching: Worldwide - BARRACLOUGH and variant's WRY - TAYLOR,BATEMAN,POLLARD
