    1. [BARRACLOUGH-L] The Oldest Living Barraclough ?
    2. Kim Pasquill
    3. Hi Everyone, This below cutting was sent to me by our friend Steve Allatt (Hi Steve), who's brother sends him all Barraclough information he comes across. I agree with Steve in that this Arthur Barraclough must be the oldest living Barraclough. He must belong to one of us Wibsey researchers, can anyone claim him before I get time to lookup the source material ? :-)) Thanks Steve Kim Pasquill Steve wrote: My brother sent me the following cutting which appeared in the Bradford Telegraph and Argus. This has to be your eldest living Barraclough! "Yesterday I received my Veteran's Medal for service in the First World War. In those days I lived in Bradford and enlisted in the Duke of Wellington's Regiment 2/6th Battalion along with a chap I befriended called Harry Slater who also lived in Bradford - I believe it was Odsal or Bankfoot. The fellow who brought the medal was the President of the local British Legion and he kindly brought me details about Harry Slater,so if any relative of his would like to have them,I would be only too pleased to forward the leaflet on. It states that he died of wounds on March 27th 1918 and that he received the Military Medal. I myself was wounded three times during 1916-1918,but am still living to tell the tale at 101 on January 4th last. Arthur Barraclough,8,Beulah Avenue,Morecambe,Lancs,LA4 6UD."
