I have just added two new family groups to my Barraclough web page. These are family group 6.19, John and Alice of Lightcliffe 1530 1606 and William of Norwoodgreen. I have been able to do these from the Wills of John Barraclough and his widow Alice and William Barraclough; the Halifax and Birstall Parish Registers; and sundry deeds and other documents. I am convinced that Johns widow Alice Barraclough is the same person as Alice Snipe, who according to my notes, married William Barraclough in 1558. Johns Barracloughs Will does refer to John Snipe as a beneficiary. Having said that I dont know who it was that married William Barraclough, but I dont think it was Alice Snipe. I am also of the opinion that Richard Barraclough of Norwoodgreen, hes the one who married Elizabeth Judson and is the brother of both these two gentlemen. Lightcliffe and Norwoodgreen are both part of the district of Hipperholme and very close geographically, just off the southern boundary of Royds Hall. These three brothers produced quite large families, so the task of sorting them out has been complicated.
