Hi Derek Hope your back is on the mend. Before you were in hospital you kindly sent me some census info, and we pondered as to poor Fountain, who was born out of wedlock, (which is a milder term than was noted on the census). I had always thought that in 1861 he was 5 years old, but your interpretation put him at 5 mths old and from this -eureka!! I think that I have located not only references to his birth in 1860, but maybe also to his marriage in 1880. So once again thanks. I am also forwarding this to the Barraclough Listers as it maybe of interest to them: Fountain Barraclough was listed on the 1861 census for Littlemoor Lane, Pudsey, aged 5mths, the head of the household was Joseph Barraclough and wife Ann (formerly Marsden). Derek and I think that this child maybe the son of their eldest daughter Betty who was aged 20 at the time. Regards Anne
