Hi Kim Have I sent you details of the 1881 census for Ann Barraclough (nee Marsden) widow of Joseph????? I have just been perusing some info that I have received and it may relate to Ruth, daughter of Joseph and Ann, who is listed as single and living with her parents in all census from 1841 thro' to 1881. (Discrepancy in age from 1851 (4yrs) to 1861(12yrs). Did she marry late in life??? The info that I have been sent could point to this, the clue being Frank Barraclough her younger brother, in fact the youngest of Joseph and Ann's brood, being resident with her. I have yet to confirm the dates of death of Joseph and Ann. Tho' Ann was a widow on the 1871 census. The following info was emailed to me; as yet I have not been able to confirm the details. 1891 census - 126 Tennant St, Bowling - RG 12/3618, Folio 119, Page 37 Iredale Joe Head M 36yr Lamplighter b Huddersfield Iredale Ruth M 41yr b Horton Frank Barraclough Resident S 22yr Yarn Stocketer** b Pudsey ** I am not sure of this transcription. 1901 census RG 13 4146 Folio197 Page 29 Iredale Joe Head M 46yr Lamplighter b Huddersfield Iredale Ruth Wife M 51yr b Horton Barraclough Doris Niece 5yr b Keighley And this maybe another of the brood - Frederick who had married and left home by the 1881 census: 1881 Census RG11 4483/16/24 - Littlemoor Bottom Barraclough Fred Head M 28y b Bradford Coal Miner Barraclough Mary Wife M 24y b Pudsey Woollen Weaver Barraclough Elizabeth Daur 1yr b Pudsey George Hollins Border U 17yr b Bradford Coal Miner I know there are Littlemoor addresses in Pudsey, but I do not know about coal mining in that area. It's possible that George is the brother of Elizabeth!!!
