Hi Kim: I am relatively new to this and don't know quite how to proceed. I'm hoping you can at least point me in the right direction. I have done quite a bit of research on my family's tree, and am now starting to work on my husband's (Barracloughs) and am finding it difficult. I subscribed to the Barraclough mailing list a few months back, but am really just now trying to get started. I am searching for parents and family of Joseph Francis Barraclough, born 1848 in Devonshire , died 9/15/1898 in Pennsylvania, U.S. and his wife Catherine Ann King also from Devonshire. Joseph and Catherine were my husband's great-grandparents. Their children's names were William (my husband's grandfather born 1877), Joseph Francis (b.1884), John James, Thomas, Amber, Elizabeth, Margaret, and Sarah. I have checked out some UK Websites, but there are so many Barracloughs, I hardly know where to start. Also, some of the terminology is different from that used here in the U.S. Any help or information you can give me will be gratefully apprecuiated. Thanks in advance!
