I have just read Dereks last message regarding the wives of Abraham. I feel I should explain that I recently sent to Derek my version of the Abraham tree. In it I have ascribed the burial of Anne, wife of Abraham Barraclough of Wibsey, buried on 1 February 1619/20 at Bradford Parish Church to this Abraham as it fits nicely with the baptism of his daughter Ellen on 23 January 1619/20 and the big gap to the baptism of his son Jonas in 1627. This does mean that Abraham had three wives, the second of which was called Anne. If this assumption is incorrect then which Abraham Barraclough did marry this Anne? There is no other obvious contender, or is there?? Derek was pointing out that this conflicts with the research of June Benn, who suggested that he only had two wives; the incumbent in 169/20 being called Agnes. I would also be interested in any thoughts that anyone might have.
