Hi Diane in California, I was quite intrigued by your email as I have done a lot of research on the ancestors of Abraham Barraclough who married Ann Beetham in 1746. On my web site this is Family Group 6.2 and it is linked back through FG 6.27 to FG 6.28, that of Richard Barraclough who married Elizabeth Judson in 1566, two hundred years earlier. I hope to be publishing further details soon as I am still in the process of researching Richard's ancestors. Going back to Ann Beetham, her daughter Ann Barraclough married James Smith in 1762. I have one of their daughters Susannah Smith marrying Joseph Cockcroft, a cloth dresser of Huddersfield, in 1792 at Huddersfield Parish Church. I must confess I haven't researched the Cockcroft's, or the Smith's outside of the Bradford area, and I haven't come across their other daughter Abigail Smith or her marriage to a Cockroft. As far as I am aware James Smith and Ann never moved from Great Horton. Ann was buried nearby at Wibsey Chapel in 1784 and James was also buried at Wibsey Chapel in 1819. I am curious as to who Abigail married. Was it Joseph's brother?
