I am still looking for information on Mary Barraclough, wife of Thomas Robinson who were married at the Pontefract parish on 7 Aug 1809. I believe Mary Barraclough was the daughter of of Charles and Elizabeth (Roberts) Barraclough. Charles & Elizabeth Barraclough's children were: Peter, christened 22 Aug 1784 Cathedral Saint Peter, Sheffield, Yorkshire,Eng. Sarah, christened 10 Sep 1786 Cathedral Saint Peter, Sheffield, Yorkshire,Eng. Mary, christened 12 Apr 1789 Cathedral Saint Peter, Sheffield, Yorkshire,Eng. Charlotte, c17 Jul 1791 buried 19 Aug 1792 Cathedral Saint Peter, Sheffield,Yorkshire, Eng. Harriott, christened 29 may 1796 Cathedral Saint Peter, Sheffield,Yorkshire, Eng. The I.G.I. listed a marriage date for Charles and Elizabeth (Roberts) Barraclough as 11 Aug 1784 but it doesn't say where they were married... Is anyone else researching this family? Hi, The List seems to have quietened down to almost nothing. Does anyone have Kim Pasquills current email address? If so could they email her and ask her to contact me. The address I have no longer works. If anyone is struggling with pre-1800 Barracloughs, I have a lot of information, including a database and Wills on my web site. I am assisting a friend with her family history and her tree includes the marriage of Mary Elizabeth Barraclough to Lewis Ramsden at St. Peter's, Stanley, Yorks. in 1896. The parents of Mary were Arthur Barraclough and Hannah Anderson who were married in 1876 at Birstal, Yorks. If you have a connection to this line of have any information that you feel would be helpfull then I shall be pleased to hear from you. Regards, Fred Waite, Lichfield, England
Dear BARRACLOUGH Listers, A friend sent me this information regarding a new site up. The Castle Garden Database went online yesterday (August 1). You can presently search New York passenger arrivals from 1830-1892. It does have some searching limitations and apparently not all the records are included yet. http://www.castlegarden.org/ Laura Green Researching BARRACLOUGH, RIDDLE, VILANDRE, DESCORMIERS, DECORMIER surnames

Hi All Ref my previous postings about Joseph & Ann's Monumental Inscription. I now have a photograph of the headstone, if anyone is connected to this family I will pass it on. Anne
Hi Nic, I've just got back from holiday and was surprised to see that no one has responded to your enquiry, which is most unusual. I live in Birstall and have accessed both records in the past. June Benn's notes have been the subject of previous enquiries, but I don't recall any previous enquiry regarding MS774. I accessed that reference from the YAS archive catalogue, which presumably is now on-line. I have made notes from both records and these are available for all on my on-line database. I'm not sure who the James is that you are referring to, but I do have a James born about 1710, the son of Paul Barraclough who left a Will. Details of that James and of Paul's Will are also on my database. I also have a list of Wills on my web-site and some pedigrees, dating back to the 16th century. If you could be more specific I might be able to help you further. Compiled by June Benn (c.1700-1991) Created: 1991 Ref - 8D92 I enquired from here (Australia) about accessing them, but just received directions back into the index, so I guess that means I can't access them electronically and need to visit the office? Has anyone else accessed this record?...Or is anyone in the area willing and/or able to check them out? I am hoping it may shed some light on James parents...or potentially link some of our early 1700 forefathers or identify their relationships. There is also another record held by the Yorkshire Archaeological Society that may be worth a look that was created by Henry Lawrance (1873-1947) a Yorkshire historian. It is ID'd as: Barraclough family and others, genealogical notes by CB Norcliffe. Ref - MS774 Is anyone handy to these record offices, who might be able to make relevant info available for us all? Hope you are all doing well. Nic P.S. - If I don't answer straight away it is because I only have weekly messages and can't work out how to change that...lol
