Being relatively new to Genealogy, I have researched my mothers family, the Samuel S. Barr family of Indiana County, PA. The oldest one I have traced to this point is Samuel S. Barr b. Abt 1820 Westmoreland d. January 10, 1896 Grant Township. He was married to Isabelle McCalister b. abt 1827 and died March 17, 1897 at home near Deckers Point. Both are buried in Oakland Cemetery, Grant Township, PA. They were very active in founding of the Presbyterian Church in Grant Township. I found the cemetery last summer, (thanks to the directions in Treasures of the Past) but they have no visible grave markers. I have traced the family forward but have not had the time to pursue it further. If anyone wishes any of the information I have they are more than welcome to it.
