Hello all My name is Kirsty Barr I have recently (very recently!) started researching my family history. I am at a roadblock at the moment so I will just post all the info that I have, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I am looking for info on James, Elizabeth's family, Samuel and his father John, parents, dates or places I can go to online or write to for information. William Harvey Barr b. 10 Nov. 1872 Armstrong Twp., Indiana Co., PA (my great-grandfather) d. 28 May 1952 Grand Forks, ND married in 1915: Marit Aamot (Gudbrands) b. 16 Feb 1891 Aamoden, Lom, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway d. 4 June 1948 Grand Forks, ND William's parent's: James Barr b. 5 May 1849 Armstrong Twp., Indiana Co., PA d. 1910 Melvin Twp., Nelson County, ND married in September 1881: Elizabeth Eleanor Calhoun b. December 1851 d. 1935, Melvin Twp., Nelson County, ND James and Elizabeth moved from PA to Melvin Twp., Nelson County, ND in 1886. James's parent's are Samuel Barr and Mary Young. Samuel served in the War of 1861 61st PA Vol and died in 23 Aug. 1862 in Portsmouth Grove, RI. Mary was born in 1822, died 1 May 1859. Samuel Barr's parents are John Barr and Hannah Kerr b. 15 Dec 1792. All I know about John is that he served in the War of 1861 61st Ohio Vol and that he was an early settler of the Saltsburg area. Hannah's parents are Valentine Kerr b. Apr 1760 and Hannah Barr. If anyone has any suggestions or maybe you are a relative I would love to hear from you. Thanking you in advance.
