Susan Clawson¹s information about the Chester Co, SC, line of Barrs adds a third Barr line to those of William Barr (Lancaster, Waxhaw, and Charlotte areas) and James Barr (settled in St Marks Parish near Williamsburg-King¹s Tree). Both of these lines were presumably earlier immigrants to South Carolina, arriving perhaps as early as the 1730¹s. If anybody believes they are related to either of these Barrs, I¹ll provide what information I have available. NB: the Williamsburg district ³James Barr² (my ancestor), a witness to a number of wills in the 1750s, is NOT the same as the James Barr who was William¹s oldest son; the latter is buried in Blackstock Cemetery in York Co, SC).
