Karen, On the Wodtke reference (³Barr Tracks²) you mentioned, there is a pedigree for Silas Matthew Barr, although there are no place names associated with the names except for William (allegedly born in Scotland). Did you notice that? http://www.worldaccessnet.com/~wodtke/p10.htm Beyond this I have little information; the usual birth of William is given as 1710 in northern Ireland, in common with the other early colonists at King¹s Tree, SC, so I¹ll look into the Scottish record, if I can locate it. I probably am descended from William via his son James, though even that father and son relationship has been questioned. Thought it best not to add more confusion to the BARR talk show; it¹s messy enough already without my help! I might be able to find some further TN records if I know where he was born and lived in that state. Let me know. Yes I did notice the Scotland. Regarding Silas Matthew Barr -- according to Familysearch.org, he was born in Sumer or Robertson, Tennessee. Other than that, I never heard where he was born.
