ROBN1, Noticed your posting to the Barr listing.. I also have been looking at the Barrs . Have a family connection Carroll/ Barr that I am trying to shed light on. This may help you so I will pass it on. [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> .com has a number of Barrs listed on her surname listings ( Sullivan-Harnois Family tree on Rootsweb.com) Mo,also of them were from Chenango,Co. New York, however some also from New Jersy. If you have not seen this, you may want t check it out. The Barr family of interest to me is that of Joseph Barr, born in Ireland about 1807. I have found ( Pretty sure ) on the 1850 Census of Cherry Twp., Butler Co., Pa., Then also on the 1860 and 1870 census of Rome Twp., Crawford co, Pa. Suspect that he and his family relocated from one of the upper new York Counties, ( most likely Chenango ) about 1850. His wife, Sarah was born in New York as well as his first Two Children prior to Elizabeth the 3rd. child being born in Butler Co. about 1845.. Mary, his first born daughter B. about 1837. is of great interest to me as she in my link to our Barr/Carroll Connection having married Charles C. Carroll , my great Uncle at Titusville, Crawford Co. about 1865 at St. Titus R.C.
