In a previous message I wrote: **************************************************************** Under the LDS records, you may request microfisk files on Barr surname. I microfisk all of my then Barr records, letters, census, newsletter etc back I believe in the 1980s and gave LDS a copy of the microfisk. Records were sorted by State, then county, also by given names as to the oldest known ancestor with his/her descendants. I realize recently that no one seems to know that these records are available thru your LDS Family History centers Interloan. I never counted the pages but I am guessing there is between 5000 to 10, 000 pages. One of the oldest Barr books on a Robert Barr printed in the 1880s or 1890s is also included. Copyright last for 75 years so it was out of this time frame. Anyway, since there are so many Barr families I thought you all should become aware of this particular source of Barr Records. *************************************************************** I hope this link will get you to place where you enter Barr as a surname on the LDS site. The link worked for me. http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/supermainframeset.asp?displ ay=surnamesearch&columns=*,0, If not then go to LDS site then click on tab says Library, then click on tab says Family History Library Catalog, then click on surname search, then enter Barr you should get 143 listings, this includes cross links with other families. Mine is "The Barr Family Journal" by Michael Barr dated 1984 I just realize that I only sent in the fiche for the Journal and not the entire collection 5000-10,000 page collection. So sorry this is only a few pages of the newsletter on fiche. Anyway everyone should know about these Barr sources at LDS, there are 143 listings. Mike Barr
