    3. I'm still going in circles on this man. "Thank you" to everyone that has tried to help. The other names I have, is a list of marriages. They could possibly be his siblings. David/Susanna Ridenour 10/2/1805 Christopher/Barbara Toby 4/13/09 My 3rd gr. grandparents John/Betsy Rohrer l/19/11 Jacob/Mary Miller 5/21/11 Benj./Mary Tutwiler 3/7/16 John/Nancy Winders 3/8/25 John/Mary Showman 2/8/26 Christian/Susanna Bachtel 6/3/16 There are other female Barrs but their dates are much later. Christopher/Barbara Toby, John/Mary Buck, William Dunn/Mary Elizabeth Estes, Harvey Colwell/Virdie White. are the main names. My Harvey was born here in Iowa in 1880. I found a Harvey in Tenn today that was also from England, so I must try to find out about that. I also found two books listed on Familysearch, "The Promised Land: the story of the Barr colonists by C. Wetton. Also, Muddling Through: the remarkable story of the Barr colonists by Lynn Bowen. The Barr Colony covered land in the provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. I suppose anything is possible here but I can't believe this has anything to do with my Barrs but maybe it will help some one else. I found a John Barr on the list of the Ship "Defence" on 19 Sept 1776 for state of MD. I've decided to study their travel habits. MD. to Holmes Co. Ohio, to Whitely, Ind. Have no idea how they got to west central Iowa from Indiana in 1854, and I've copied every census I can find. I have no idea how to find church information from that area. I love old newspaper clippings. I think they give a true picture of life during that time. Sorry if I'm long winded!! Ruth in SW Iowa
