This may not help, but some of our BARR'S are from Pa., Scots origin. Irony is that my Grandfather was Samuel(Samson) Eddy Barr. I never knew him, but understand that he passed away in New York in the late 1920's. Regards, Brad Barr

According to my aunt who is 85, she said her grandparents lived and died in Oseola Mills, Centre Co., PA. I've never heard of that town. Is there such a town, do they have a cemetery? Spent over 10 hours searching the Phillipsburg Cenetery 18 months ago, they said that was where Samuel Everhart Barr was buried. The cemetery has no record. Centre Co. Historical Society says he's buried there. My aunt said he was buried next to his wife and always was old it was Oseola Mills? Any suggestions?

Hi - To the person who posted the message about GREEN BARR. I have a VICTOR GREEN BARR in my ancestry born 1863 - not known where he was born. He was a dentist in Paterson and married Harriet Elliot Talcott Harrison in 1884. I have been searching for him for years! VICTOR GREEN BARR's father was listed as FRANK BARR on his marriage certificate and mother's name was Emma Barton Cook...but that is all I have. Victor Green Barr died in 1915 in Elizabeth, NJ. Any chance we can connect these two people with very similar names? If you think we can connect, please e-mail me at: [email protected] Thanks - Shannon ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, November 12, 2001 3:21 PM Subject: Re: [BARR] New Private Barr Family Website!! > I don't want a secret password. Dear Susan Another thought would be to email the Reference Librarian (if they have one) at the Barrie, Ontario library. I have been there and they have an interesting assortment of microfische files in their genealogy department. Barrie is in Simcoe County and it is a large library for a small town. To get the email address, you might ask your local library if they have access to various public library emails. You might even contact the Toronto Reference Library here in the City of Toronto, Canada, for information as they have a huge genealogical section and helpful librarians. Dear Susan There is a lady named Mary Garbutt who is writing a book on George Barr who settled in Medonte Township, Simcoe County, in the Province of Ontario. She may be able to help you. I do not know if she has a computer or an email address. I do not even have her address at the present time but I do have an email address of a lady who has her address. That lady would be Carol Mercer (a Barr descendent) and her email address is [email protected] Perhaps she can tell you of Mary Garbutt's actual address. Mary is doing all the Barrs family tree for the purpose of publishing a book but she may be of some assistance to you. The name "Lessard" does seem to ring some sort of a bell to me. Good luck. Kathy Fee ([email protected]) George Barr is my great great grandfather. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susan & Doug Thomson" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, October 29, 2001 6:02 AM Subject: Re: [BARR] Canadian Barrs > My Canadian Barrs > > Andrew McLean BARR b 1834 Kilmaronock, Dunbartonshire, Scotland > son of James BARR and Isobel MCLEAN Married June 19, 1813 Cardross > Dunbartonshire > (James and Isobel had 11 known children.
