I just found out I don't even have John Barr's wife's name. His daughter, Elizabeth was born 1804 in Kentucky. The 1880 Pope County, AR Census has Elizabeth's father born in VA and mother born in NC. What part of Kentucky do your Barr line come from? I am looking for my line from the Owen/Franklin/Scott Co area. My husband's ggrandfather was a Green Barr with a brother named John Barr but my John was married to a Maria Poe. My Green was killed in 1880 with a bullet in the back during a shootout. I think I made a mistake. Going back over my material the 1830-1840 Marion County, Missouri Census had Zachariah Barr listed just under John Barr and I must have wrote it down as his wife. According to the census John had eight children. His Daughter Elizabeth was born 1804 in KY. This is about all I know about John. There were John Barrs and Zachariah Clements in my family history and they did live in KY in the early 1800s and some of them did go to Missouri. However, the Zachariahs were men. In your posting you implied that your Zachariah was a woman, married to a John Barr. Is this correct? If so, do you have any idea of Zachariahs maiden name? Or any other details? -----Original Message----- From: benewing@earthlink.net [mailto:benewing@earthlink.net] Posted At: Monday, October 22, 2001 7:51 PM Posted To: Barr Research Conversation: [BARR] Re: Kentucky Barrs Subject: [BARR] Re: Kentucky Barrs This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. The marriage date and place can be found at familysearch .org or at marriage records of St Michaels Zion Lutheran Church at usgenweb.com state pages for Pennsylvania. I am looking for parents of Samuel Edger Barr who was born abt 1777 in PA. One of his sons was John Watson Barr, born 1807. That's the weak clue for my interest in James Barr and Catherine Watson.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/oVC.2ACIB/1357 Message Board Post: Two years ago I had contact, and lost that contact, with a woman who indicated that in 1976 there was a celebration for our country birthday. It was held in Huntingdon Co., PA at Fort McAlevy's Indian cemetery. She said that the cemetery is in the middle of a farmers field now and that it had been all cleaned and weeded for the celebration. She took her grandson back 10 years later and it was all grown over with weeds and the tomb stones were not visiable. My question. Did anyone take any photos of that cemetery &/or any of the plots. I have tried for many years to find a historical society in the area but came up short handed every time. Someone in the area had to have taken some photos. Both Robert and his wife Mary are buried in that little cemetery. My Barr line has been well established but I have been unable to find the resting place of anyone other than my grandfather who died in 1945. If anyone knows about this cemetery please e mail me. Thank you, Pam Barr Chambers
