Surnames: Baron Barron Raemisch Bates Jones Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SVC.2ACEB/179 Message Board Post: I am researching the William Baron family of Manchester, England. As near as I can find, they immigrated to NJ about 1843-1845. He settled in Patterson, Passiac County, with his wife, Mary Jane Unknown and son, Amos (b. 1841, Eng.). Seven children were born to them in NJ between the years 1845-1859, Jane, Anna, William, Nancy, Mary A.,Catherine and Ellen M. Another child, Helena, was born about 1863 in WI. They made their way to Columbia County, WI during the Civil War. Amos had joined the Union Army in NJ. When the war was over, he too, went to WI. He soon married Annette Jones and settled in Sauk County, were they had nine children between 1870-1890, Ellihue, Ellen, Minnie, Amos William, Ezra, Viola, Olive, Grace and Archie. Amos William married Etta Jane Bates in 1899. They had five children Elliott B., Frank Jacob, Walter Bennie, Clara Elizabeth and Arlene Etta. Amos William died in 1928. Etta married unknown. The marriage did not last long. Etta would follow her son, Frank, and daughter, Arlene, to CA in the 1940s. Frank Jacob married Bertha Raemisch in 1923. They lived in Madison, Dane County, WI. They had three sons, Arnold Henry, James Amos and William. In the 1940s they all moved to CA. If you have any information on these families or their extended families, I would love to hear from you.
