In order to understand the connection I have to Napoleon I need to explain some background details. This was very challenging to research. I need to start with a woman named Marie Ivers. Here are the facts: Marie Ivers was born abt 1867 in Manchester, NH to Patrick and Annie Ivers. In the early 1880s she married a Boyle. I found several references to him being arrested for violence and child abuse. In 1889 Rose Anna was born to a Napoleon Baron and Marie Ivers. EMPHASIS on 1889 There is no record that Napoleon and Marie ever married. Napoleon did marry a Marie Constantineau and in 1891 had their second child Rose Anna Baron! In 1890 Mr. Boyle dies and in 1891 Marie gets married to a John Lapoint. On the marriage record it reads "Marie BOYLE" with "IVERS" in parenthasis under Boyles. This is her second marriage as noted on the record. I started this research because on my grandfathers birth certificate (John Ernest Cates) his mother's (Rose Anna) maiden name was LAPOINT, HOWEVER, on her birth record it reads BARON. She was raised in a Lapoint household BUT Napoleon was her biological father. I wonder if any of Napoleon's family even knew that there was another daughtor. Just recently I found my gt grandparent's marriage record and it records her name "Rose A. Baron (alias Lapoint)" BINGO! So I know I'm on the right track. She married Robert Christopher Cates June 22, 1910. I wish I knew exactly what had happened. Obviously Marie Ivers had a challenging first marriage and it looks like she and Napoleon had an illegitimate child. Would you happen to know any living Baron who might have known if their BARON parent had an older sister not of thier mothers? I couldn't find a way of contacting you directly.
