Hello: I am trying to prove a family legend. It says that my BARON family was originally from Ukraine, but fled from the Cossacks to Lithuania in the mid 1850's. They were supposedly descended from Rabbi Nachman of Breslov. My earliest ancestors is Yankel/Jankel Baron, born c. 1810 probably in Ukraine, where he probably died. Does anyone recognize any of this? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
