NOTE FROM ADMINISTRATOR: My apologies for the error in the first line of the message I just sent to you. You may have guessed that I have more than one list to Administer that is in the "B" group. I am sorry for any confusion. ***************************************************************************************************** This notice is to let you know that the BARNSTABLE mailing list was successfully migrated over to the new Mailman software system at rootsweb.com last week. For you, the list subscribers, the changeover should have little affect, but there are a few changes which you should note. The "-L" is being dropped from the "official" list name. This means the "from" address your mailing list emails come from will be slightly different: [email protected] vs. the current [email protected] You may have to adjust your spam filters or put the new address on your "accept" list to prevent it from being caught in your "junk" folder. NOTE: You will still be able to send messages to the list using the [email protected] email address you use today. Additionally, you can choose to drop the "-L" and send your messages to [email protected] Both addresses will work after the list has been migrated. You will also be able to subscribe and unsubscribe to the mail or digest mode by sending your request to [email protected] or [email protected] as you do today. You will also be able to unsubscribe from the mail or digest mode by sending your "unsubscribe" message to [email protected] Subscribers receiving the digest will notice some changes in the layout, volume and issue numbers of the list digests they receive. Be sure to put the new addresses in your personal address book. Finally, check the list archives at http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/?list=BARNSTABLE to see if you missed any mail and let me know if you did. M. Matthews List Administrator

Hello! My name is Mignon and I recently adopted the BARNSTABLE lists. Many of you probably subscribe to several different lists, as I do, and you may also have noticed that there are some differences in administrative practices. My main concern is that the BARNSTABLE List members get as much help as possible from this source. After reading some of the archives, I know that there is an excellent exchange of information and it is my intention to support and encourage this sharing. Many of you probably already subscribe to RootsWeb Review. If so, you know the value of this newsletter and I am sure that you will support my suggestion to non-subscribers that they might find it a useful tool. Subscribing could not be easier. Just go to http://newsletters.rootsweb.com/ , which is the Newsletter Management Center. Check the newsletters you wish to receive and click on submit. If you want to cancel your subscription for any reason, just click on uncheck to cancel. Each week the RootsWeb Review brings you the latest news about changes and additions to RootsWeb.com (new databases, mailing lists, and websites), tips on using our site, plus articles of interest to family historians around the world. I am looking foward to working with all of you. Mignon Matthews List Administrator BARNSTABLE Lists
