Hi all, I'm attempting to piece together the family of Charles Barnhart and wife Nancy (Brooks??). Charles was born in Virginia about 1821 while Nancy was born in Ohio about 1822. Their home (during the 1860 - 1870 census) was in Lawrence County, Ohio; the family consisted of 8 children - Jacob, Nancy June, John, Peter, Levinda, Minerva, Rebecca, and Charles. The only child I'm familiar with is Minerva who married John D. Doughty in 1870. The other children are somewhat of a blur although I have some information pertaining to their spouse(s) and children. Along with Charles Barnhart there is a Peter Barnhart and wife Nancy, also born in Virginia, listed in the 1860(+) census for Lawrence County. I believe that Peter and Nancy may be the parents of Charles but I don't have enough information that would give me that warm fuzzy feeling in my stomach. Don't know how much this may help anyone but you may be able to couple it with what you have a fill in one of those darn blanks that we all have.
