I am looking for anything about William B. Barnett. What I think I know is he was born in 1868 in Missouri. His mother's name is Helen Mar. Surles. Since she is widowed, married 38 years in 1900, I am guessing it is a second husband and the census just wanted total years married to everyone. I looks like Williams middle name is Breemyeld. William and Armanella married in 1899 near Salem, Oregon. William is supposed to have been a Federal Marshal, and have died in the line of duty before 1922. Armanella died in 1922 of a broken heart. I only know of one child for them, another William. William B. was born in Missouri, and so were both of his parents. Helen Mar. Surles was born in Missouri, her parents from VA. The family says William B. came from Independence, Missouri to Independence, Oregon sometime in the 1800's.

Jim Did any of your Barnetts live in Lewis Co., MO? Towns include Deer Ridge, Monticello, Canton. My ancestors lived in the county after the Civil War and some are still there today. Paula
