Hello to all, EARLY BARNETT GENERATIONS IN VIRGINIA among the Barnetts, who were early in Virginia, were John Barnett, age 26 years when he came to Virginia in 1620 on the "Jonathan" Thomas Barnett, who also came in 1620 but on the "Elizabeth" William Barnett, who came in 1623 on the "Truelove" but who was deceased by 1624 ( Named in a list of dead at Chaplins Choice in 1624) It is believed by Barnett descendants, who have studied the early Barnett generations in Virginia, that Nathan Barnett, born about 1729 in New Kent County, Virginia, was descended from Thomas Barnett, who reached Virginia in 1620 on the " Elizabeth". Thomas Barnett was born about 1607 in England, died after 1650 in Virginia, married Mary_______ about 1737 in Virginia. Mary was born about 1614 in Virginia, died after 1650 in Virginia. According to his approximated dates, Thomas Barnett was about 13 years of age when he reached Virginia. Perhaps he came with relatives or perhaps he was an indentured servant, as were many poor boys in Colonial Virginia. In 1620 Thomas Barnett was named on a list of servants in Jamestown, Virginia. Later he became a member of the Virginia House of Burgesses. John Barnett, perhaps the son of Thomas and Mary______ Barnett, was born about 1645, married Elizabeth________ about 1680. Elizabeth was born about 1650 and died after 1690. John and Elizabeth lived all their lives in Virginia.
