Records indicate that my James Barnett fathered at least 9 children and gave them all his name by two different women, maybe more. He met (2) Rachel Moonlight after 1843 in Scott Co., VA. She was born July 10, 1822, and died 1912 in Scott Co., VA. Buried Lane Cemetery. In the 1840 Census, Mary not listed living in his home, but living with their daughter. Young Rachel was abandoned in a cave near Neumans Ridge in Snoodville,Hancock Co..TN She was found by Ambrose Jones and his wife.
