I am researching my husband's family and am having difficulty linking mid-generations. As someone else said, there are way too many Williams and Johns. And in my case way too many James! Montgomery County (VA) d. Atlanta; spouse Caroline Trent gg grand - James Barnett Jr. d. 1845/46 Montomery Co spouse Mary Ann Wade ggg grand - James Barnett Sr (maybe Capt?) Big Spring Plantation - Montgomery Co. VA spouse unk. perhaps died 1835 family lore has it that the previous generation is also a James (perhaps the Col James from Botetourte Co) with another James or 2 and then John and William II of Londonderry but I can't get the link because on of the wills I have found refers to James as a son-in-law.
