    3. Cont Sec 1 page 7 Alexander Barnett Will. I am just posting main imfo and skipping formal Will wording as in most all wills when drawn up. Probated 20 may 1851, York Co SC. WILL BOOK "3" P___ 232. Case No. 15 File No. 1554. Alexander leaves his property and belongings to the following in order written up. Item 1... body disposed of and just debts paid. " 2... To my wife, Rachel Barnett, Use of my plantation as long as she lives for her bennefit and support, also to her my Negro woman, Filis and girl, Amanda, ; choice of my horses, choice cow and buggy, a good bed and bedstead w/ bedding, a set of drawers, Lifetime use of boy Cubit and Woman Nell and at Rachel's death they are to be disposed of as below. 3.... to my son, James A. my boy Kit and third choice of horses, 4... to my dau. Margaret E Wallace, my boy Ben and fifty dollars to be paid from my dau Martha Currence it being part of a girl Lorrow. 5... my son Wm A Barnett my boy Sylvanus and the black smith tools and my wagon and harness to remain on Plantation as long as my Wife Rachel lives and at her death to go to William A Barnett. 6...to my dau. Martha P. Currence her boy Isaac & a girl Lorrow and she is to pay Fiftey Dolloars to Margaret Wallace. 7...to my dau Rachel Eliza Mc Kenzey her girl Ann and negro woman & Nell at Rachel's death and she is to pay Margaret Wallace fifty dolloars. 8... to my son Hamilton A Barnett my boy Cubit at his mother's death. 9... to my dau. Catherine a negro woman Ann and child Ciolate and her increase and 2nd choice of my horses, cow & calf, her bedstead, bed and bed clothing, set of drawers small table, looking glass, Bridle and a set of plates, cups, & saucers, Knives, forks, wheel & cards, half dozen chairs. 10... into my grandchildren, Ann Bigger, Martha Bigger, Alexander and Andrew Bigger, five dolloars each. 11... a years provisions to be made for my wife & Catherine and also will bequeath the money and notes I have on hand to be divided between Rachel & Catherine,, Rachel two thirds and Catherine one third. 12... Lastly I will that my properety not above named to be equally divided between my wife Rachel and six children, James, Margaret, William, Martha, Eliza, Alexander & Catherine share and share alike to be taken at the apraisement or to be sold publically and the money divided with each one having the rite to take such property as they can agree on , also my plantation will be divided at my wife's death and the land to be divided equally between my Three boys names in the 12th item, James, William and Hamilton A Barnett. signed, sealed and witnessed in presence of; Jas.     3. Maxine, This is great! This will sounds so familiar. I think I came across it, or something like it years ago at the geneology library here in Austin. If no one has ever done research there, it is worth the trip. It is in a wonderful old State building downtown next to the Capitol. I had made the mental note that my Barnett line might have lived on a Plantation, but I did not copy it or anything because I had just started my reserach and I did not have all of the names at that time. Thanks for finding it and transcribing it for all!
