Vol. II page 246 of Pennsylvania. Supreme Exec. Council of Commonwealth of Penn. I am skipping the legal wording. " JOSEPH BARNETT has paid into reciever general's Office the sum of Seventy-seven pounds and nine schillings and is granted by the same Commonwealth a certain tract of Land; "BARNETT's CONQUEST", sitsuated in the forks of the Beaver Creek in Paxton TWP ( now Dauphin Co,) beginning at the Cornet White Oak of the Robert Curry's land, thence by the South Twenty Degrees East, thirty four perches to Black Oak thence by same and lands of Benjamin WALLACE, North Seventy Degrees East one hundrerd forty eight perches to a Dead White Oak, thence by said WALLACE lands and Land of Thomas Kennedy north twenty degrees, west eighty six perches to a Beech Tree, thence by said Kennedy's land and land of William Brandon, north west one hundred forty perches to a Black Oak, thence by lands of Thomas Finney, south seventy drgrees, west sixty eight perches to Black Oak, thence by land of Moses Swan, south forty eight degrees, one hundred and ten perches, to a White Oak ,south sixty one perches and half to a Dogwood, south sixty six degrees, east eighteen perches to an Elm Tree, south sixteen degrees, west seven perches to a White Oak, South eighty six degrees, east twenty three perches to a White Oak, and south five degrees, East forty perches the place of beginning continueing one hun! dred forty three acres and allowance of six per cent for Roads and with the Appurte names which said tract was surveyed in pursuence of a Warrent granted to William Nott dated 16 Jan 17367 who by deed dated 4 mar 1739 so conveyed the same to WILLIAM BARNETT who by will dated 3 Apr. 1752 devised same to the said JOSEPH BARNETT in fee. To have and hold the said tract of Land or parcel of land with the appurtenances unto the said JOSEPH BARNETT his heirs and assignees forever free and clear of all Restrictions and reservations as to mines royalties, quit rents, or otherwise exceptions etc. Witness Hon.
