List members I am posting a paper I found on a recent visit to Ashville, NC. It was in a file of loose genealogical papers kept at the public library in Ashville. It confuses and muddies the waters a little bit and due to the fact there is not much documentation with it, it needs to be checked as thoroughly as possible before it is taken as true as written. Another note Id like to add here. I have been researching David Barnett of Person Co, NC and Greenville Co, SC for many years. I have always known of another David Barnett who was a contemporary of my David. Whether or not they are related has never been established. They both served in the Revolutionary War, they both moved to South Carolina, they both have children with some similar names like John and William and Thomas fairly common names for the times. I ran across the following information because I am trying to locate the family of my Davids son, John. There are several hints I have picked up along the way to lead me in his direction I am still trying to work out the tangle that the following info makes. It may, or may not, be correct. We all know how easy it is for several people of the same names to be living in the same areas & times thats what makes this so much fun! Why couldnt the Chinese have invented computers along with gunpowder and abacuses? I will send this stuff in several parts. Thanx, Diane in Indiana Ref N.C. Hi Cousin Diane, I'm Joe McDonald and one of the gggrandsons of David BARNETT and Mary MERRILL. Their daughter Susan married (2) Frank ALLISON and their daughter Olivia ALLISON married John Logan BALL from Madison Co NC. Their daughter Mary Sue BALL is my mother. I'm still studying you posting and would like to know if you have this on "Family Tree Maker" program and would be willing to share it with your cousins? I have a very, very poor photo copy of a page from the "BARNETT Bible" that has "John BARNETT was born Sept 1st A.D. 1772. Martha his wife was born Aprile the 26 1765" ( the 1765 was marked thru and replaced with 1779). "Was married March the 23 1797". Below this is a list of family members of the PYRON or PYSON family. I don't know why these are in the bible much less on the same page, unless they are members of Martha's family. The one I can make out for sure is the first one. "James Pyson/Pyron was born May the 28 1776". The next "Was born in June the 23 1783". etc. You may have seen this if you visited the Henderson County History Center.
