HI i am still trying to find my ggg grandfather Berry W. Barnett who was born abt. 1813 somewhere in S.C. I know he married a Martha ? in 1833 by 1834 started his family had 10 or 11 children. I am trying to find out where he is buried and when he died. It seems like this our Barnett list is getting less and less activity. I was wondering why. Carolyn Stephenson
Try York Co SC. Lots of Barnett's bur in the Bethel Church Yard Cem there even still today. My Thomas Barntt and wife Martha patrick Barnett were bur there in abt 1813. He was b in York Co and his fa Thomas b in NC before in abt 180??/. Maybe the name Berry was a nick name and he was actualy named Berryhill or some other as there were that name in NC and SC. Many boys wee given surnames of their granparents or mother's in middle and nick named the Berry as maybe they didn't like or the first name was too comon etc. The Cem is on net.. hundreds bur there and still today. I have seen many posts of looking for this maybe same Berry Barnett and may be same one.
