    3. I am skiming through the front part of Mary Barnett's book on the Autobiography of a Mary Anna Barnett b 22 Sep 1845. The writer says she remembers the day as she was abt 3 yrs old. so she must have been born abt 1842 if so?? Maybe she will give her date later in book. There is no index so bear with me here. Mary Anna Barnett b 22 Sep 1845 . The day of her birth was, as she says, the day of the return of the soldiers from the Mexican War Sun was going down and was chilling day. Mary Anna was b in Southern Indianna. She was the fourth child and second dau. of her parents. ( 7th ch in home) Ambrose D Barnett 3 ch. of first mar and 1st wife., ?) May have been a Sally??, John who died abt 1862/3, Tom and Sally.. 2nd wife 1... Billie 2.,. Frank 3. Martha who died of scarlet fever in Oct.1847 when Mary was but 2 yrs old. 4... Mary Anna b 22 Sep. 1845 5.. Milda b Jan 1847 died of Spotted fever before she finished her schooling. for teacher sudenly. 6. Henry 7 Bob ( may been Robert? 8.... Mecca(?) b 2 May 1852 9.. America Ellen b 9 Apr 1858 In 1850 Ambrose sold the So Ind home and moved to a different home there . The Hut's home. Then in after abt 2 yrs, 1 Apr 1853, they moved to 200 acres just west of Cicero, Hamilton Co Ind. in a home of Elijah Redmond. By 1865 and before Anna( as she went by, leaving off the Mary,) was teaching school buy then. Mary Anna Barnett finialy married a cousin, George Barnett 12 Mar 1872. the second term of the school she was teaching in begining after 12 Mar 1872. By the time the book was writen as I understand the Mary Anna and George were still married and one of their son's had died at 43 yrs of age. and they had 5 children. George was born 25 Dec 1843, his father was a Tom Barnett. and mother was Catherine and George was their only child. They celebrated a wedding Anniversary on 12 Mar 1922 at their home of 50 yrs. They had been married in her parents, Ambrose D Barnett's home in Nineveh, Johnson Co Ind 1872. at 2:30 PM by Rev Richard Gosney of the Nineveh Christian Church. They moved into housekeeping on the Thomas Barnett farm 1 mile north of Edinburgh, Ind. George and mary Anna Barnett children were 1... Ella J 2.. Edmond C. trhen they moved to the Geo. B White home in Nineveh TWP, 3..Flora 4.. Alice, 5. Bert Emory 6.. Jessie Isadora 24 Oct 1890 they moved to the Hume Sturgeon Homestead which they purchaced from John W. Ragsdale and Oren C Dunn where they were still living in 1922. They celebrated their 50th anniversary at their home so.w of Trafalgar, Ind. Children attending were. Mrs Ella J Woods, of Sameria " Flora Pickerel and Bert E Barnett of near Talfalgar, ind. and Miss Jessie Isadora barnett who resided with her parents. Ed C Barnett had died inCoorado Springs, Co 23 Oct 1917 Granchildren are; Vera M, Verle B, Don C, and Howard M. Woods. Ch of Ed C barnett are, Mary Doris, Edna Claire, James Clinton, andGeorge Benton. Ch of Bert E Barnett are; Ralph E, Hellen L, Marie, and William L. Barnett. Son of Flora A Pickerel. Lawrence Alden Pickerel. Rev Wm Johnson and wife of gaston Ind attending. A 17 verse 4 line each, Poem written by dau Jessie Barnett was read to them at anniversary. This is also in the book. There is much here in stories of happening and the marriages, deaths etc of Mary Anna's siblings as in these un indexed pages. I have skimmed through to get the above imfo and missed the mar of Mary's siblings as didn't quickly see any dates. I didn't see a birth date per say of the Writer Mary A Barnett but may be someplace in the rest of the Barnett Gen in the Johnson Co part. Maxine Wilton mmwaw@sprynet.com
