    3. Did I confuse everyone? I enjoy hearing from everyone, but I am no help with any family but the one that settled in Scotland County, MO. I am getting questions about Barnett's that lived all over Missouri. I know that many Barnett families lived in MO at one time. Some came from Kentucky, some came from the south. There were three different Barnett families in Scotland County, MO at the time that our John came to MO. None of them were known to be related to our family. I know that almost all of our Barnett relatives lived and died in Scotland County Missouri and or Van Buren County Iowa. One daughter I believe, went to Kansas and her ancestor's are now in Idaho. William Barnett's son came to Missouri and settled in the one spot. That is within a mile of the Iowa Missouri border. My question was about William Barnett who married Sarah Hart. They lived out their lives in PA. They never went to Missouri. Is it ok to repeat my information???? William Barnett, born about 1769 somewhere and died Aug. 18, 1838 in Buffalo Township, Armstrong Co. PA. He was married to Sara Hart. She may have been born in 1779 somewhere and died Jan. 6, 1852 in Armstrong Co. PA. They bought land probably at a coffee house in Philadelphia, traveled over the mountains to Armstrong County PA, and lived there for the rest of their lives according to oral family history. Their oldest daughter or two may have made the trip with them; Mary Anne (Polly) and Anne. We have some information on their children and can trace son, John who was born in PA and took the train straight to Scotland County, MO, to Mark Hopkins, to William Herbert to Marion Clark to me but are unable to learn where William and Sarah lived before Armstrong County. William's mother must have been in contact with William and Sarah as she is buried in Cowan Cemetery, but the stone isn't clear enough to read. William may have been married beforehe came to Armstrong County. In his will William left money to two sons, James and William, who are unmentioned and did not seem to be known by the children he raised in Armstrong County. I would really like to get in touch with anyone from this family or anyone who has any information about this family. I am willing to share information about the members of the family that moved to Scotland County, MO, and some who are now living in Iowa. I do not have much proof, but do have history from older family members and have been to the gravesites and original family farm at Azen, MO.
