    1. [BARNETT] William Barnett and Sarah Hart
    2. William Barnett, born about 1769 somewhere and died Aug. 18, 1838 in Buffalo Township, Armstrong Co. PA. He was married to Sara Hart. She may have been born in 1779 somewhere and died Jan. 6, 1852 in Armstrong Co. PA. They bought land probably at a coffee house in Philadelphia, traveled over the mountains to Armstrong County PA, and lived there for the rest of their lives according to oral family history. Their oldest daughter or two may have made the trip with them; Mary Anne (Polly) and Anne. We have some information on their children and can trace son, John to Mark Hopkins, to William Herbert to Marion Clark to me but are unable to learn where William and Sarah lived before Armstrong County. William's mother must have been in contact with William and Sarah as she is buried in Cowan Cemetery, but the stone isn't clear enough to read. William may have been married before. In his will William left money to two sons, James and William, who are unmentioned and did not seem to be known by the children he raised in Armstrong County. I would really like to get in touch with anyone from this family or anyone who has any information about this family. I am willing to share information about the members of the family that moved to MO, and some who are now living in Iowa. I do not have much proof, but do have history from older family members and have been to the gravesites and original family farm in MO. Thanks to all, Wava Barnett WavaBarnett@msn.com

    3. Hi Wava and everyone else: Last night I tried to upload the DNA website. It did not upload correctly. I tried again tonight. I "think" it went up. Let me know if the items I mention are not on the website. Of particular interest to each of us Barnett researchers is the information on the various participants. I have included their lineage from their earliest ancestor, the DNA marker results and the Distance from each participant to each of the other participants. It is possible the ancestor of two of the participants that matched exactly may have come from Pennsylvania prior to the South. The participants themselves need to do more research on their ancestors. In addition others who believe they belong to those progenitors should join the test group or find someone who can take the test (a living male named Barnett and descended from a Barnett). So, Wava, your last name is Barnett. You can not test but your husband, son, brother or other Barnett relatives can. This might be a good Chistmas present to you and your family. The more Barnetts we get in the test group the more we willknow about relationships, migrations and who is really related to whom. The test is just a saliva test. A cotton swab is rubbed over one's inside cheek. Nothing else to it. No blood, etc. There is no name associated with the test material when it is sent to the lab and the material remains in the lab so there is no security problem. The type of testing we are doing has nothing to do with criminal or genetic disease testing. Only specific DYS's (markers) are tested. These markers are tested to show who is related and has simmilar DNA. In criminal and disease studies entirely different markers are used which study other things or try to isolate markers that make one unique rather than similar. Any way visit the website. It is at http://micbarnette.bravepages.com click on DNA Project.
