I'm looking for any information on Perry Barnett, father of Silas L. Barnett, born Leake Co. MS about 1845. Silas' death certificate lists Perry Barnett as father, born AR and Dollie Brewer, born USA. I found a Perry Barnett in Maryland listed as "freed". Does that necessarily mean a freed black, or can it be a freed Native American? There is also supposed to be Cherokee Indian in the ascendency of Silas Dogan Barnett, g-grandson of Perry and Dollie. Any suggestions, anyone?
