Sherd W. Barnett Sr., 76, of Elsmere, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. He was a self-employed mechanic and a member of Boone-Union Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Syrian Shrine and the Florence Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Joanne Morton Barnett; a brother, Louis Barnett of West Lafayette, Ind., six sons, seven daughters, 27 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Stith Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Big Ben Baptist Cemetery, Union.
