I have been searching for ancestors of William Barnett and Elizabeth Caroline Allen. I found what appears to be a lead on RootsWeb. William was born 3/20/1825 possibly in Gallatin County, IL. He married Elizabeth Caroline Allen in Gallatin County, Il 3/28/1847. According to the RootsWeb information his father was James Cook Barnett and mother was Sarah. James Cook was born 1792 in either North Carolina or South Carolina. He and Sarah were married about 1816. They had the following children: Zadok S. Barnett, b. 1818 Burnetta Barnett, b. 1820 James Gallatin Barnett, b. 5-29-1823 William Barnett, b. 1826 Mary Ann Barnett b. between 1820 and 1826 (female) Barnett b. between 1820 and 1830 Thornton Barnett b. 1828 Samuel Barnett B. 1831 James Cook Barnett's second wife was Angelina Ward, b. 1820 in NC. they were married about 1842. Their children are: David George Barnett, b. Oct 1844 Jacob Barnett b. 1844 Sarah Barnett b. 1846 Henry Barnett b. 1847 Reuben Barnett b. 5/14/1848 Nancy Barnett b. 1850 Mary Barnett B. 1852 James Cook Barnett's father was David Barnett, b. about 1765, d. before 1850. No information on his mother. David and his wife had the following children: Bazel Barnett, b. 1789 James Cook Barnett b. 1792 Zadok Barnett b. 1801 David M.
