Peter Leger was the son of Peter and Rachael Maiden ( Madden ) Leger. Searching for parents of Jesse Barnett, b. 5 April 1823 in Georgia. He married Rebecca Hampton, possibly in Washington Co. Tennessee. ca.1849. Could Jane Barnett have been his mother ? She was listed as head of household in Washington Co. Tennessee census of 1830. A male child of the approximate age of Jesse was in the household. Jesse and Rebecca named their first child Mary Jane, which may be more than coincidence.
