My father received a letter from a man in England who is searching for the family of 1st. Lt. Thomas D. Barnett a pilot with the 305th Bomb Squadron who was killed in WWII over England. He was listed as from Iowa. There will be a dedication for him and his crew in England in May. The Memorial Association in England are trying to find his family members and those of his crew to let them know of the Dedication. Caputre: The Baby Parlee Wallen was said to have been the baby that Amandy Johnston carried on her back to locate a homesite on Big Branch with her husband James C. Johnston. There's a rural store and upon the hillsides some small wagon mines. But the main story is this: Way back in pioneer days there was only Big Branch bordered on either side by underbrush and trees.
