    2. Robert and Nancy Barnett Sr.
    3. Looking for descendants of Dudley Barnett of Garrard Co. KY. He was married 3 times (2 wives were Frances "Fanny" Cameron and Caroline Ford). Many male descendants of his were named Robert Wesley Barnett. Trying to establish Dudley's relationship to an earlier Samuel Barnett of the Harrodsburg, or Nicholas, Lincoln, Garrard counties of KY. Samuel Barnett is listed along with Dudley Barnett in the old Barnett family Bible found at Burgin, KY. These Barnett men may have descended from John Perry Barnett and Elizabeth Self of Orange Co. VA (John Perry Barnett said to have had 17 sons, many of whom were Rev. War soldiers). Nancy Moore Barnett <[email protected]>

    2. Hayward Barnett
    3. Periodically it seems necessary to remind our subscribers to the BARNETT list that the list was established strictly for the purpose of sharing information between Barnett surname researchers. and not as a forum for sharing personal views on unrelated topics. Anything other than Barnett surname-related posts is strictly off-topic and subscribers should refrain from posting off-topic messages. Those who consistantly abuse this request can expect to be unsubscribed. Sorry to have to resort to scolding but there seems to have been a rash of off-topic posts lately and may stem from the fact that subscribers are unaware that off-topic posts are inappropriate. We are fortunate in that RootsWeb has a spam interception utility that intercepts spam messages before they get to the list. So let us all cooperate in keeping the List focused on the original purpose. Hayward Barnett, List Owner

    3. I am searching for any information about my g-g-grandmother, Viola M. Barnett. She was born on March 9, 1872, maybe in Indiana. She married Alva Curtis HOWER, and they had: Ruth, Edward Wilson, Harlin V., Stanley G., and Helen B. She lived in Decatur, Indiana during the years her children were being born, but may have lived in Kentucky in later years, and was also said to have lived in Warrick Co., Indiana before her death. I am unsure of her death date. Please contact me if you have any information about Viola. -Kristin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 1. Re: Census
    2. OK Folks, Enough about the Census forms. The only purpose for which the Census is required by the Constitution is to apportion the House of Representatives. That's the only purpose our Founding Fathers had in establishing it. Remember the original forms asked only for the name of the head of household, and how many people lived in the household in age groups. The govt is not in the business of helping genealogists do their research, so let's move on. With all the records kept of everything nowdays, future genealogists should have no trouble finding us without the census. ;-) Janelle

    1. MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES
    2. Subj: [TXBOWIE] ORIGINAL MARRIAGE CERTIFICATES Date: 03/13/2000 7:35:03 AM Central Standard Time From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Hello List Members, Texarkana USA Genealogical Society has in its possession more than 9,000 Original Marriage Certificates for marriages in Bowie County, TX and 2,000 + Originals for Miller County, AR. The majority of them are from about 1889 to 1935. A few older, some more recent. The Miller County are indexed by both Groom and Bride. The Bowie County are indexed by Groom only. Currently, we are working to index these by Bride as well but it will take a while longer. They can be obtained for the low cost of $2.50, a SASE and a short lineage chart showing your relationship to the individuals. If you had relatives who married in either of these counties in this time frame, I will be happy to check for availability of their certificates. If we have them, you will be notified on where to send your information so that it will reach the proper person. Will also notify you if they are not available. We would love to get all of these Certificates placed in the hands of family members as they would be a great addition to your family records. Please feel free to forward this mail to any list to which you subscribe. Thanks, Doris Lindblad [email protected]

    2. Surtees Family
    3. Kathy: What would you like to know? This is my cup of tea. I descend from David thru his son William (Kiziah WALKER). There are a couple of items I can throw out to you. #1 - David, Jr who was married to Lucinda DUNNEHO(DONEHO) was David's grandson, NOT his son although he did have a son named David. Yes, I can document this. #2 - There were 2 David BARNETT's in South Carolina. Ours was living in Greenville where he moved in 1800 from Person Co., North Carolina. Most of his childen were born in North Carolina. We have church records concerning Agness BARNETT's death, and no spouse was listed when his estate was settled. The boys would have named a spouse had there been one alive. They named everyone else connected with the estate. My bet would be that the david BARNETT concerned in the will from Edgefield is the other David. There has been quite a lot of research done on the WHITE branch of this family. I'm not sure if any of the descendent researchers are on this list, but I have snailmail addresses for several of them. Also, I have information about the line. 1. Re: 2000 Census Form
    2. Ditto here on the disappointment with the form. It took all of about 2 minutes to fill mine out and get it back to the mailbox. No info requested there that will tell anyone in the future anything important about you, unless they consider it important how many people were living in your household. The names, ages, etc, are already available so many places. Sure glad those folks in 1850 asked more pertinent questions!! Sherry

    1. Fwd: 2000 Census Form
    2. This will never work with our politicians promising the world just for breathing, no hard work required. They don't really care about us, our children, the morality of our Country, families, what our founding fathers thought. They don't even care about the Constitution that is continually changed for every whim. I'm not bitter. I will still teach my children and grandchildren that all those things are very important and knowing who our family was a hundred years ago and what they lived and died for is more important that what this Country's news media says!
