Looking for William B Barnett and Mary "Polly" Blakely. I think they were born in or near Floyd County, GA and moved to Kentucky shortly after marriage. Names of probable children are: Lucy, James L, John F, Nathaniel, Josiah, and Thomas. They were in Caldwell County, before 1829 and Calloway County KY after 1830. If anyone knows anything about this line, please let me know. C. Barnett KY
I am looking for anything about William B. Barnett. What I think I know is he was born in 1868 in Missouri. His mother's name is Helen Mar. Surles. Since she is widowed, married 38 years in 1900, I am guessing it is a second husband and the census just wanted total years married to everyone. I looks like Williams middle name is Breemyeld. William and Armanella married in 1899 near Salem, Oregon. William is supposed to have been a Federal Marshal, and have died in the line of duty before 1922. Armanella died in 1922 of a broken heart. I only know of one child for them, another William. William B. was born in Missouri, and so were both of his parents. Helen Mar. Surles was born in Missouri, her parents from VA. The family says William B. came from Independence, Missouri to Independence, Oregon sometime in the 1800's.

I am trying this again. I just received information that in 1908 Viola Barnett Hower and her husband, Alva Curtis Hower, were living near Decatur, Indiana in the county of Adams. Viola Barnett was born on March 8, 1872. If there is anyone else out there with Barnett relatives living in the Decatur area around that same time, I'd be happy to compare notes. Thank you! -Kristin __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Messenger. http://im.yahoo.com
Barbara: The court record would be an open record. It would probably be a federal case and would either be in the federal courthouse in the district where the case was tried or it may have been sent o the federal archives regional branch serving KY. I think KY records are in Atlanta Georgia at East Point. The prison records would be at the prison, or, if they have been retired, they would be in the federal archives regional branch. For Atlanta, that would definitely be in East Point/Atlanta, GA MIC Mic Barnette's Writes a Weekly Genealogy Column In The Houston Chronicle. Hi Lesley: The middle name Glenn suggests a connection to the Barnetts of Goochland Co, VA/Spartanburg, SC. JoRoyall Barnett (1758 Goochland Co, Va-1812 Spartanburg, SC) mar 1785 to Agnes Glenn who died about 1852 in Spartanburg, SC. You need to find your Joseph G Barnett on the 1860 or 1870 census. He should be enumerated with his parents. If you can't find a library with census records in your area, you may borrow the microfilm from the Mormon Family History Centers. Barnett List- Anyone familiar with a Barnett who married Edward Baisden in Logan County, (W)VA? The History of Logan County by Henry Clay Ragland Jean Schmidt Baisden was another early settler at the mouth of Laurel. He came with Rochambeau to America and served under him during the Revolution. After the war was over he located at Richmond, Virginia, and then moved to Reed's Island of New River, where he married a Miss Branham, and about the beginning of the present century settled at the mouth of Laurel. He had three sons and two daughters. His sons were Joseph, who married Lucinda Osborne; Solomon who married Mary Chafin; and Edward who married a Barnett. His daughters, were Polly, who married John Blair, and Frances who married Thomas Copley. Note: Original text stated served with LaFayette and it was crossed out and Rochambeau was written in.
